Exploring the interconnections between light and shadow has taken me on a fascinating path of experimentation. I’ve been testing how refraction—achieved through kiln-formed glass—can shape not just images, but entire atmospheres when paired with light. These tests have opened up a whole new realm of possibilities: combining glass with projections and LED light to move beyond static pieces and instead evoke mood within a space.
This project was made possible through the support of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), giving me the opportunity to experiment and expand my creative practice.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and City of Moreton Bay to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Through this project, I deepened my understanding of how light and shadow interact with glass, particularly across different textures and surface treatments. I became more aware of how reflections and translucency can evoke emotional responses and express interconnections between natural elements. I also explored how combining several components—such as glass, projected light, and spatial composition—can work together to create a specific mood, moving beyond glass as a standalone medium.
